So, I’ve been slacking on my posts lately and I’m 2 behind. First thing’s first. A few weeks ago, Jeff decided to break out his brand new smoker for the first time and we were treated to delicious ribs and sides courtesy of Jeff and Nick. It was a beautiful day—the first nice day of the spring and we took advantage of it.
There were no scorecards involved, just a bags set, some booze and a good time. I will say, that when this is all over, Jeff & Nick could make a run at opening a rib joint. Based on what we’ve eaten so far, I think their rib joint would rank pretty highly on all metrics on our BBQ Scorecards.
What was on the menu?
Ribs
Potato Salad
Fruit Salad
Bread
Chocolate Toffee Pie
The ribs were “fall-off –the-bone” tender, and were served with our choice of Kansas City barbeque sauce. Jeff and Nick slaved over that smoker all day long; I don’t know exactly what they were doing, but it worked. A good secret is how the best barbeque restaurants start isn’t it?
I made the fruit salad, so of course it was good. Just kidding, but it was really good.
Ashley, our resident health nut, brought fresh bread from the health fair she was working that day. It was the perfect addition to our barbeque meal.
I made my rookie attempt at making a chocolate toffee pie. I thought it tasted pretty good, and I think others felt the same way.
All in all, it was a fun day with some great food. Who knows, maybe some day someone will be blogging about us …
Great post!!!!! Who are these Jeff and Nick guys? I'd love to meat* them.
